Sony has announced that those without a PS4 pre-order in place will be able to buy a console at the midnight launch event on Thursday November 28.
If you haven’t managed to bag a day one PS4 pre-order then Sony is offering a way for you to get one on Friday, but you’ll have to wait your turn.
Sony is opening the queue for the PS4 Lounge in London’s Covent Garden on Thursday morning, and the PS4s for sale will be on a first come first serve basis from midnight.
“Day one PS4 pre-orders sold out in record time and this could be the last chance for anyone who wants to get their hands on a console before Christmas,” said Fergal Gara, Vice President of SCE UK. “We really wanted to offer some way for people to buy on launch day, and this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that hasn’t already pre-order to get their hands on a PS4 on day one.”
Anyone getting in the PS4 Lounge queue for the chance to get a day one PS4 will need to head over to 17 Bedford Street, Covent Garden, WC2E, but you will get fed and watered by Domino’s pizza and Red Bull for your efforts – the event’s sponsors.
“The excitement in the run up to our UK launch has been phenomenal, and we want to thank gamers for their support by giving them the change to take a PS4 home at the earliest opportunity.”
The PS4 UK release date is scheduled for Friday, November 29. It was released in the US on November 15.
Over 400 stores will be opening their doors at midnight on Thursday to allow gamers to pick up their PS4 consoles.
