Sony has released the full list of PS4 apps that will be available in the UK from launch.
There will be 11 apps available to users on November 29 when the PS4 launches in the UK.
Unlike the Xbox One, the PS4 will be offering BBC iPlayer from launch, which just adds another string to Sony’s bow.
The 11 apps for the UK are:
- Music Unlimited
- Video Unlimited
- IGN
- BBC iPlayer
- VidZone
- Amazon
- LoveFilm
- Netflix
- BBC Sports
- BBC News
- Demand5
PS4 owners will not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to access any of the above apps. All app content requires an Xbox Live Gold membership for access on the Xbox One.
Sony also reveals that at least 20 additional apps will arrive before spring 2014, including TuneIn radio and MUBI.
“PlayStation has always been dedicated to offering players a rich variety of entertainment options alongside the core gaming experience, and with PS4 we’re very happy to continue that tradition,” said Sony.
The Xbox One launch apps included the likes of Netflix and 4oD. Surprisingly, the latter is missing on the PS4.
However, BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport and BBC News were not part of the launch app lineup for Microsoft’s console, much to the annoyance of consumers.
