Selected UK retailers have already dropped the price of the newly launched Nintendo 2DS console to £99.
The 2DS arrived in the UK on October 12 at £109.99 and it has only taken some retailers 10 days to drop the price of the handheld console below £100.
Now offered as a bargain buy just in time for early Christmas present planning, you can now get the 2DS for £99 if you shop about a bit.
If you’re heading to Sainsbury’s, they are offering the £99 2DS in-store, while its rival Tesco is offering the reduced price online via the Tesco Direct service. Asda is also promoting the 2DS for £99, as is online retail giant Amazon.
Perhaps a better option for younger gamers is Argos’ new 2DS deal, which offers the console for £99 along with two Nintendo DS games – Lego: Lord of the Rings and Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed.
The Argos deal is only available until October 26, so you may want to move quickly if it appeals.
Nintendo 2DS Features
Targeted at the younger gamers and those who aren’t interested in the 3D game capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS or 3DS XL, the Nintendo 2DS plays all the 3DS games in 2D.
More of a budget option, the 2DS is shaped like a wedge door stop and offers dual touch screens with Wi-Fi connectivity.
You’ll still be able to enjoy all the Nintendo 3DS applications and software on the 2DS as well, so all you’re losing is the 3D functionality – and some of the cost.
Using the 2DS you can still access the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Video store and play 3DS and DS games too.
