Apple has officially announced the UK pricing for the new iPad mini 2 and iPad Air, both available from November 1.
The iPad Air will start at £399 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model ranging up to £639 for the top-end 128GB version.
The Wi-Fi and Cellular iPad Air starts at £499 for the 16GB model and goes up to £739 for the 128GB version.
Apple is offering the iPad mini with Retina display from £319 for the Wi-Fi only 16GB model or £419 for the 3G and Wi-Fi model.
New for the 7.9-inch tablet is the 128GB internal storage option, which retails for £559 for Wi-Fi only or £659 for Wi-Fi and Cellular.
Strangely, neither new iPad model offers a Touch ID fingerprint scanner like the iPhone 5S, but they do offer the full iWork and iLife suites for free with every purchase.
iPad Air Features
The iPad Air is significantly smaller and lighter than its predecessor the iPad 4. It weighs less than half a kilo and is 20 per cent thinner too. Similar to the original iPad mini, the iPad Air now has thinner bezels and a flat aluminium rear too.
Retaining the 9.7-inch Retina display, it now has the Apple A7 processor with the 64-bit architecture. Despite the new hardware upgrades, the iPad Air still has a 10-hour battery life.
It also comes with twice as fast Wi-Fi performance using 802.11n with MIMO.
iPad mini with Retina Display Features
Offering the same 7.9-inch design as its predecessor, the iPad mini 2 finally includes the highly anticipated Retina display that will offer the same number of pixels as the iPad Air.
Like the iPad Air it has the Apple A7 processor and MIMO Wi-Fi technology.
