Claimed Nokia Lumia 1020 pictures have hit the web, with the reported press shots of the upcoming 41-megapixel camera phone leaking via Twitter.
Widely expected to be announced during Nokia’s New York based launch event next week, the Nokia Lumia 1020, a handset which has also done the rounds with EOS branding, is set to be the first phone to bring the Finnish manufacturer’s 41-Megapixel PureView snapper to its flagship Windows Phone line.
Making a premature appearance courtesy of repeated tech tipster @evleaks, the latest Nokia Lumia 1020 images have emerged exactly one week before the manufacturer’s July 11 unveiling.
Following on from the recently launched Nokia Lumia 925, latest Nokia Lumia 1020 rumours have suggested that the Windows Phone 8 powered handset will land as a challenger to the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, a 16-megapixel camera hosting spinoff to the Samsung Galaxy S4 with a 10x optical zoom.
While the newly leaked Nokia Lumia 1020 pictures show a handset remarkably similar to Nokia’s past Lumia offerings, the images have failed to offer a glimpse at the phone’s rear. Past leaked images have pointed to the device sporting a bulbous rear to support the low-light specialist camera.
Offering little details on the phone, the Twitter based leak came with the simple message: “Nokia Lumia 1020 for AT&T, 2013.”
Last month the @evleaks was the first to point to the upcoming Nokia handset becoming the company’s first phone to break through the three digit naming convention. A Tweet from the serial tipster stated: “EOS = Lumia 1020.”
Although Nokia has yet to formally confirm the Nokia Lumia 1020 release, the manufacturer has repeatedly teased the device, recent stating there are “41 million reasons” to tune into next week’s unveiling, a tip that all but confirms the phone’s PureView camera inclusion.
