New Google Nexus 7 details leak
A new, second-generation Google Nexus 7 tablet is reportedly on the cards and latest reports have suggested an Asus customer services rep has already revealed a number of details around the device.
Although far from an official confirmation, it has been claimed that an Asus spokesperson has discussed the much mooted product with consumers, claiming a new Google Nexus 7 release date is on the cards for later this month.
Emerging via a selection of screenshots from an Asus customer care conversation, the reports, which should be taken with a considerable pinch of salt, have claimed the iPad mini rival will touch down with a Full HD display and the as yet unconfirmed Android 4.3.
With the unnamed Asus representative suggesting the new Google Nexus 7 will launch “before the end of July,” it has been suggested that the tablet will be the first piece of hardware to run the next version of Android. A number a leaks in recent weeks have seen Android 4.3 break cover as a further advancement on Jelly Bean rather than the all new Key Lime Pie which is eagerly awaited.
According to the outed conversation, the new Google Nexus 7 specs sheet will be an impressive affair with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor tipped to land alongside 2GB of RAM and a reasonable 32GB of internal storage.
The reports have suggested that the 7-inch 1980 x 1200p resolution display will be further enhanced by the presence of cameras front and rear. While a 5-megapixel snapper is expected for the back, and 1.2-megapixel camera has been mooted for up front. With Blueooth 4.0 and NFC believed to be included, a hefty 4000mAh is expected to keep the new Google Nexus 7 running along.
Although there is no direct mention of the Nexus branded product itself, the discussion surrounding the code named Asus K009 is widely believed to be a follow-on to the affordable and hugely popular Google themed Android tablet.
