Keep up to date with Murray's Wimbledon progress in 3D with the BBC
The BBC will be showing the women’s and men’s semi-final and final Wimbledon matches in 3D, so Brits can cheer on Andy Murray.
Anyone who’s been following Andy Murray during Wimbledon will be pleased to hear the BBC is offering the semi-finals and final matches in 3D.
All Wimbledon fans will need to watch the free-to-air 3D coverage is access to a 3D TV. Then they can simply press the red button to turn on 3D.
In order to enhance the 3D viewing experience, the BBC has added six more 3D cameras to Centre Court to make sure all the action is captured.
“We’re delighted to provide live 3D coverage as this year’s Championships reach a climax,” said Kim Shillinglaw, head of BBC 3D. “Major UK sporting events are a big part of our trials with 3D content and this allows us to build on our work from previous Wimbledon’s and the London 2012 Olympics.”
Wimbledon 3D via the BBC red Button HD channel is available on Freeview HD, Virgin Media, Freesat and YouView services.
Andy Murray will play Jerzy Janowicz, a 22-year-old from Poland, in Friday’s semi-final. The men’s semi-finals start at 1pm on Friday, July 5 and will also feature Novak Djokovic against the one-legged Argentinian Juan Martin del Potro.
The ladies semi-finals started today, July 4, at 1pm. The ladies finals – sans Serena Williams – will take place between 2pm and 5.55pm on Saturday July 6.
On Sunday, July 7, between 2pm and 6pm we could see Djokovic take on Murray in the men’s final.
All of the upcoming matches will be shown in 3D on the BBC.
