New Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini pictures have leaked online showing the spec-reduced device lined up next to the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Although Samsung has yet to officially announce the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, pictures of the handset have cropped up online courtesy of Chinese blogger and Weibo user PunkPanda, who already has a reputation of getting early hands-on time with Samsung gadgets.
Strongly resembling the Samsung Galaxy S4, the slightly smaller Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini should be a mid-range alternative to the powerhouse flagship device with a reduced screen size and specs sheet to reflect the price reduction.
The plastic rear casing is removable like the Samsung Galaxy S4, revealing the microSD and micro SIM card slots underneath and replaceable battery.
A Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release date has reportedly been set for mid-July and looks set to be available in the same White Frost and Black Mist colour options as the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Features
Several sources have said the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini features could include a 4.3-inch qHD 960 x 540p display with an image density of 255ppi, powered by a 1.66GHz dual-core processor packing 1GB of RAM.
With an 8-megapixel rear camera, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will have 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS overlaid with Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX interface, along with the new camera functionalities of the Samsung Galaxy S4 like Dual Camera, Eraser Shot and Drama Shot.
Two other Samsung Galaxy S4 variations are also tipped to launch sometime this year. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom could pack a 16-megapixel rear camera and x10 optical zoom, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active could ship as a rugged, waterproof and dustproof version of the Samsung Galaxy S4.
