Dead Island: Riptide holds UK All Format Gaming Chart top spot for third week

Dead Island: Riptide has held onto pole position in the UK All Format Gaming Chart for the third week running, despite sales dropping by 55 per cent.

The only game, bar Bioshock Infinite, to hold the title for three weeks this year, Dead Island: Riptide is still strong in first place in the UK gaming chart.

Previous chart leader Injustice: Gods Among Us had been in second place since Deep Silver’s zombie shooter knocked it off the top, but this week falls to fourth. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 rises from sixth to take second position for the week ending May 11.

The new Tomb Raider reboot sticks at number three for another week, while FIFA 13 falls from fourth to fifth. The football simulator is followed at number six by previous three-week-long leader Bioshock Infinite that climbed up from seventh.

Assassin’s Creed 3 rose from eleventh to take number 7 this week, re-entering the UK All Format Gaming Chart Top 10 due to a price reduction last week.

Nintendo 3DS title Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins is a non-mover at number eight, but fellow Nintendo title Luigi’s Mansion 2 falls from nine to ten this week.

New entry to the UK All Format Gaming Chart this week comes in the form of The Walking Dead, in at number nine. Previously only available in a digital format episodically on Xbox Live, PSN and Steam, The Walking Dead was released on a physical disc last week by developers Telltale Games and Avanquest.

The other notable new entry this week is PQube’s Persona 4 Arena, which debuted at number 11.
