Google has released its schedule for this month’s Google I/O 2013 developer conference, with the search turn tech giant to kick off proceedings with a three hour keynote expected to be brimmed with new announcements.
Having previously spread its Google I/O reveals out across a number of shorter keynote events, the Android maker has revealed that this year will see all manner of discussion and unveiling crammed in to a single, three hour long event.
Taking place between 9am and 12pm PST (5pm to 8pm BST), on Wednesday May 15, the Google I/O keynote is believed to focus on a number of the company’s key ventures, with the likes of Google Glass and Android all but guaranteed to take much of the focus.
Having last year kicked off proceedings with a Google Glass incorporating sky dive, Google will no doubt been keen to top its previous keynote efforts, suggesting we could be in for quite a show.
According to latest Google I/O rumours, the Apple and Samsung rival will launch a selection of new devices at this year’s show, with a second-generation Google Nexus 7 tablet and a new Google Nexus 5 smartphone reportedly on the cards to rival the iPad mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 respectively.
Away from the hardware front, it is widely expected that Google I/O 2013 will be the launch platform for the long awaited Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie operating system, although a number of recent reports have suggested the software update is facing a number of delays.
Taking place between May 15 and May 17 inclusive, Google I/O looks set to overshadow the annual gathering of another tech giant, with BlackBerry Live taking place on America’s east coast between May 13 and May 16.
