Sony Cyber-shot HX90
Sony has unveiled two new point-and-shoot cameras with powerful zoom lenses, the Sony Cyber-shot HX90 and Sony Cyber-shot WX500.
Both pocket-sized cameras come with the same 18.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, Bionz X processor, and Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* zoom lens with five-axis image stabilisation system.
Indeed, the latter component is probably the biggest selling point here, and why you might choose to take these point-and-shoots out in addition to your high-end cameraphone.
The Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens is capable of a whopping 30x optical zoom, and 60x with Sony's Clear Image Zoom digital zoom technology.
Both cameras also have a 3-inch LCD display that can be tilted through 180 degrees for selfie shots, as well as NFC and Wi-Fi connectivity.
They also inherit the Fast Intelligent AF system from Sony's acclaimed full frame A7 range.
The main difference here is the Sony Cyber-shot HX90's pop-up OLED viewfinder, which is rather like that found on the Sony RX100 III. Another borrowed element from Sony's premium point-and-shoot range is the HX90's control ring, which can be freely assigned to functions like manual focusing or step zoom.

One other difference is that the HX90 comes with GPS for location tagging.
Both The Cyber-shot HX90V and WX500 will be available from June for $430 (£293) and $330 (£225) respectively.
