The Project Cars release date has finally been set for May 8 after repeated delays.

Following repeated delays, Slightly Mad Studios has now set what seems to be a final release date for Project Cars on May 8.

Project Cars was originally due to be released back in November 2014, but was subsequently pushed to March to allow for more development time.

Then the Xbox One, PS4 and PC game was pushed back again to April and finally to May where the release date now sits.

There's also a Wii U version for the racing game in the works, but there's been no word as to when that will drop.

Project Cars brings together a wide array of motorsport disciplines and vehicles and delivers them with near photo-realistic visuals.

Earlier this week, Slightly Mad Studios released the PC requirements for the racer and confirmed the framerate and resolution for the Xbox One and PS4 versions.

The PS4 version runs at Full 1080p HD and the Xbox One is at 900p. Both console versions run at 60fps though.

Those looking to play on PC, you can get up to a 12k resolution if you've got the gaming rig to support it.
