The Huawei Ascend P8 will launch next month with an integrated fingerprint scanner in tow, latest reports have suggested.

Thanks to newly leaked blueprint images (via NowWhereElse), the Huawei Ascend P7 follow-on has been teased ahead of the phone’s recently confirmed April 15 unveiling.

Showing off the handset’s inbound biometric sensor, the prematurely unveiled details have also revealed the handset’s full dimensions, hinting at the addition of a larger, 5.2-inch screen.

The P8 will reportedly line up a mere 0.1mm thicker than its predecessor at a still super svelte 6.6mm thin.

This minimalist bulk will be stretched over a larger frame than that of the P7, with the upcoming Galaxy S6 rival to line up at 144.9mm tall and 71.9mm wide.

It has been suggested that this larger footprint will see the P8 move from its predecessor’s 5-inch form to host a new 5.2-inch display.

Although we can’t say fir certain that the P8 will play host to a fingerprint scanner, the large rectangular cut-out on the phone’s rear looks markedly similar to the fingerprint reader on the oversized Huawei Ascend Mate 7.

Further details teased by the leaked P8 blueprints including the addition of microSD expansion and dual speaker grills on the phone’s base.

The Huawei Ascend P8 will be formally unveiled at a dedicated launch event in London in a little over three week’s time.

Recent reports have suggested the handset will pair a 1080p, Full HD display with an octa-core Kirin 930 processor, 3GB of RAM and an improved 13-megapixel primary camera.

For the selfie lovers, a secondary, 8-megapixel shooter will sit up front while a 2600mAh battery will keep the handset running well into a second day.
