Instagram has released a brand new standalone app, Layout, which is dedicated to producing collages for use on the photo-sharing service.
Following on from Hyperlapse, last year's standalone app dedicated to timpe-lapse photos, the Instagram has come up with a similarly focused treatment for collages.
There are already loads of third party collage apps for Instagram out there, of course, and you've doubtless seen the results on the image-focused social network. However, Layout is a lot more powerful and intuitive.
When you open the app, you can set straight to work selecting the photos you want to form into a collage. The app will automatically offer previews of various layouts for you to select.
Layout will also detect any photos with faces in and push them to a special Faces section.
Once selected, you can drag and drop, pinch to zoom, and pull in the sides to resize each of your photos. You can also flip, rotate, and apply funky mirror effects to them.

Instagram has also included a Photo Booth mode, which starts a timer for taking selfies that instantly go into a collage layout.
Layout is available to download for free on the iOS App Store for iPhone now. Instagram claims that it'll be hitting Android in the coming months.
