The iPhone and Surface Pro 3 can be buddies too
Microsoft is intensifying its efforts to ensnare those consumers who’re tempted to jump from a MacBook to one of the company’s Surface Pro 3 hybrids.
Following an aggressive advertising campaign, Microsoft launched a web portal called ‘Making the switch: MacBook to Surface Pro 3’ during the last weekend.
The site is designed to help those considering a change, and others who’ve already made the leap, get acquainted with the powerful Windows 8.1 device.
The page includes an introduction to Windows basics, answers questions about moving from a Mac to a Surface, transferring over content and offers insight into using a Surface Pro 3 with an iPhone, iCloud and iTunes.
That last point seems like a smart move from Microsoft, seeing as there are likely to be many folks who opt against leaving the Apple ecosystem through fear it’ll leave them unable to sync their content with other devices.
Some sections answer FAQs on keyboard shortcuts, right clicking, putting the computer to sleep and the location of system settings, while others look to reassure customers that “your iPhone and Surface Pro 3 will get along really well."
“We want you to feel confident,” Microsoft asserts.
“Computers, and the memories you keep within them, are incredibly personal. We know moving these memories from one platform to another can be nerve-racking and learning new software can seem daunting. We want to make the transition as easy as possible.
“If you currently have a Mac and have questions about switching to Surface Pro 3 and Windows, we designed this site to help get you started.”
