Tzukuri 'unloseable' sunglasses can be tracked via your iPhone

If you're forever losing your sunglasses, this is for you. It's a pair of shades whose location can be tracked via your iPhone.

Each pair has a solar-powered Bluetooth beacon built into the frame. Walk away from your shades, and a notification will ping on your iPhone, letting you know you've left them behind.

You can then pull up a map with their location, so you can head back to the cafe/bar where you left them. Or, if someone's made off with them, you can follow in hot pursuit.

The notification will recur every 15 feet as you get further away from your shades (or they get further away from you), so you're not likely to miss it.

It uses Apple's iBeacon tech, which is also used for indoor tracking, and to alert you to nearby items that are on sale.

Unlike some attempts at a tech/fashion crossover, the shades look great too, and are easily something you'd like to be seen in. Manufacturers take note – hide the tech, or at least make it discreet, and we'll be more likely to wear your wearable.

It comes in six designs, three sizes, and two colours (black and tortoiseshell). Sadly, it's limited to 5,400 pairs, each costing $249. After that, the price jumps to $349.

It's available to pre-order now from the Tzukuri website. Below is a video explaining how it works.

Would you wear this pair? What other devices would you like to see use iBeacon? Let us know in the comments.
