Plastic HTC One M8 Ace to be true M8 Mini?

The plastic HTC One M8 Ace could be the true M8 Mini, if the latest information is correct.

Despite the launch of the HTC One Mini 2, it looks like HTC could have another budget device up its sleeves in the form of the M8 Ace.

According to previous rumours the M8 Ace will pack identical specs to the HTC One M8, but come with a curved plastic body rather than the premium aluminium uni-body.

Now the first renders of the HTC One M8 Ace have emerged, showcasing the handset’s plastic, but heavily One M8 influenced, design in all its curved glory.

From the looks of this render, the M8 Ace may not pack the dual-sensor UltraPixel rear camera of its flagship brother though, which may be one of the only differences between the two smartphones.

According to the source of the above render, the device is not the rumoured HTC Butterfly 2, but the M8 Ace, although that may not be the name it launches with.

Adding fuel to the Ace rumours is a fresh post from the official HTC Twitter account, which teases a new smartphone arrival.

“More beautiful curves coming soon”, read HTC’s new tweet with the below picture highlighting something with curves.

If the rumours are true, aside from the dual-sensor rear camera, the M8 Ace should feature specs identical to the One M8, similar to what Sony did with the Sony Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.

Therefore, the M8 Ace should run on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, helped by microSD support.

It could feature the same 5-inch full 1080p HD display as the One M8 and run the latest Android 4.4 KitKat with the new Sense 6 UI over the top.
