Is the HTC One M8 Prime on its way?
Forget the flagship HTC One M8, something bigger and better is on the way as the HTC One M8 Prime is teased again.
Having been the subject of multiple leaks in recent weeks, a number of new HTC One M8 Prime specs have been teased courtesy of serial Twitter-based tipster @evleaks, and it looks like the handset is shaping up to be a bit of a beast.
Expected to be an even more premium spinoff to the flagship M8, the HTC One M8 Prime has been tipped to line up as a challenger to the upcoming LG G3 and heavily rumoured Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime.
“As expected, the Prime in M8 Prime refers to the components,” @evleaks Tweeted. Detailing the phone’s features list, they added: “Snapdragon 805 (4 x 2.5GHz), 5.5-inch WQHD, 3GB of RAM.”
As well as offering a raft of high-end internals, the M8 Prime will also reportedly look and feel the part.
“Coolest feature of M8 Prime?” the tipster added. “It’s made out of an exotic material, a composite of aluminium and liquid silicone.”
According to the reports, this will allow the M8 Prime to maintain the M8’s premium aesthetic while matching the submersible qualities of both the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2.
There is currently no word on an expected HTC One M8 release date, although it has been suggested the phone will pack Cat 6 connectivity options, which means the phone will be rather speedy.
The HTC One M8 has already been joined by one spinoff sibling, with the HTC One Mini 2 formally unveiled in the guise of a sub-sized M8.
