Telsa CEO and real-life Tony Stark has rounded out 2014 by announcing the electric car firm is working on a novel solution for charging motors like the Telsa S.
Musk took to Twitter on Wednesday (via TechCrunch) to announce Tesla is building a ‘solid metal snake’ which will automatically slither from the wall and dock with the car.
This would eliminate the need for users to manually connect the car when they return home from work. It would also eliminate the potential forgetfulness of owners who wake up ready to head to work only to find they have no juice for the journey.
He tweeted: “Btw, we are actually working on a charger that automatically moves out from the wall & connects like a solid metal snake. For realz."
He added the solution would be backwards compatible enabling all current Model S cars to get in on the action.
“This can be used with all existing Model S cars, not just futures ones,” he wrote.

Back in November this Telsa announced it was expanding its UK operations with six new supercharger sites opening in London, Reading, Bristol and Edinburgh. The sites promise to charge the Model S’ battery by half in just 20 minutes.,
Earlier in December the firm also announced it was boosting the range of the Tesla Roadster to 400 miles off a single charge.
