Has Samsung’s first 2K smartphone been caught on camera?

Samsung 2k Phone leak

Is this the first 2K phone from Samsung?

Get the salt shaker at the ready as this latest leak needs a fair pinch of the seasoning as a claimed image of Samsung’s first 2K smartphone appears online.

Hitting the web courtesy of Twitter-based tipster @WindyLeak, the claimed 2K Samsung phone has been snapped within a development dummy case. Although there are no further details on the phone’s specification, it has been suggested that the handset is the first to pack a 2K panel.

“Clear pic for 2K resolution display #Samsung,” the leakster wrote on the Twitter posting.

With so few details surrounding the leak and no comment on where the image originated from we suggest this leak is taken somewhat lightly for now.

Despite the slightly sceptical nature of the leak, the latest reports back up months of murmurings of a Samsung handset with a 2K display.

With the Samsung Galaxy S5 having widely been expected to become the first smartphone to pack a 2K screen, the Korean manufacturer left many disappointed when it arrived with a more standard 5.1-inch, 1080p Full HD display.

Since, then, however, reports have continued to circulate on Samsung working on a ‘premium’ flagship device which runs a 2560 x 1440 pixel 2K display.

In recent weeks an unknown handset circling under the moniker of the Samsung SM-G906S has been doing the rounds with a claimed 2K panel tacked on.
