The next Apple handset could land in Q4
The iPhone 6 rumour mill continues to circle with latest reports suggesting the next-gen Apple handset will enter production in July ahead of a Q4 release.
According to reports out of Japan and Taiwan, Apple is planning to kick off iPhone 6 production runs in July, a couple of months before the reportedly 4.7-inch handset is made available to consumers.
With an iPhone 6 release date widely expected to follow recent launch patterns and land within a couple of weeks of a late September unveiling, the mooted Q4 launch would fit with an in-store arrival during the first weeks of October.
Based on the latest leaks, it has been suggested that a July production run for a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be followed by the production of a larger, 5.5-inch iPhone offering from September.
Rumours that Apple is working on its first phablet device to rival the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 have circled for a number of months, with the latest claims hinting that the September production will precede either a late 2014 or early 2015 release.
Although Apple has yet to formally acknowledge any existence of such a device, most iPhone 6 rumours have claimed the future phone will make a jump in screen size, moving closer to the 5-inch likes of the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5.
Further iPhone 6 rumours to do the rounds in recent weeks include reports that the phone will be the first to run a new iOS 8 operating system and that Apple, unlike its lead rivals, will focus on improving photographic and lens quality as opposed to simply filling the phone with a larger megapixel sensor.
