LG G Watch UK price to be under £180

The LG G Watch's price has been revealed

With the LG G Watch set to launch in the coming months, the Korean manufacturer has reportedly confirmed that the LG G Watch UK price will be below £180.

Having been formally unveiled last month as one of the first devices which will come running Google’s new Android Wear OS, the LG G Watch has now edged closer to the realms of reality with the manufacturer confirming it will cost significantly less than the rival Samsung Gear 2.

With the second-generation Gear 2 expected to set wanted owners back around £299, a sub-£180 LG G Watch price would make the square faced smartwatch a tantalising prospect. The G Watch price was reportedly confirmed during a UK product showcase today.

Formally announced last month, there are currently few confirmed details circling around the LG G Watch.

The Korean tech giant recently confirmed that the smartwatch would land sooner rather than later, with an LG G Watch release date tipped for the second quarter of the year – so before the end of June.

Speaking exclusively with TrustedReviews in recent weeks, James Marshall, LG’s European Director of Mobile Communications told us the G Watch is a “statement of intent” on the wearables space.

“Right now all we are able to tell you is that we are working closely with Google in collaboration to bring the LG G Watch to market,” Marshall stated.

“You can expect it in quarter two of this year, so very, very quickly, and obviously that means more information will fall out and we will let you know as soon as that becomes available.

“Right now it is a clear statement of intent in terms of working with Google and we are exciting about the next step and what that brings for us. That’s as much as we can say today.”

He added that the LG G Watch will be “an entirely new beast” when compared with the 2009 released LG Watch Phone, a SIM-enabled timepiece with the ability to make calls.
