The Last of Us PS4 release teased by Sony

Is The Last of US PS4 bound?

A remastered version of Naughty Dog’s PS3 epic The Last of Us will be released for the next-gen PS4 console, Sony itself has teased.

Although Sony has yet to officially announce any The Last of Us PS4 release plans, the Japanese gaming giant yesterday published an advertising banner on the American arm of the Sony Entertainment Network website, showing the title as available for pre-order.

While the ad was hastily removed, the prematurely teased image has offered a tantalising glimpse about what PS4 gamers can look forward to.

Listing the game alongside a $59.99 pre-order price, (£35.82) price tag, the mocked up ad suggests that a formal announcement can be expected in the near future.

Despite the leak, Sony has remained coy on the possibility of a The Last of Us PS4 release, refusing to comment on the tease.

“At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject,” an official Sony spokesperson told Eurogamer.

Far from the first time that a The Last of Us PS4 release has been teased, earlier this year, PlayStation’s European and Asian Software Marketing Manager, Sercan Sulun, stated “As of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4, both on PSN and physically.”

Much to the delight of next-gen gamers he added: “The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play ‘Left Behind’ as well.”
