Nokia’s first ever tablet, the Nokia Lumia 2520, will be released in the US on November 21.
The news was revealed by US network operator Verizon, which claimed that the 10.1-inch Windows 8 RT tablet would available on Thursday of this week. That’s one day ahead of the Lumia 2520’s availability on rival network AT&T.
It’s been revealed that the Nokia Lumia 2520 will initially be available for just $399.99 (around £248) on a new two year contract. It’ll cost $499.99 (£310) outright.
Nokia’s first crack at the tablet market will be a highly capable device. That 10.1-inch display will be a Full HD 1080p example, and it’ll be powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU.
It’s a similar set-up to the 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520, which was announced at the same time during Nokia World 2013.
Elsewhere you get an 8,000mAh battery, a 6.7-megapixel rear camera, 32GB of internal storage (with the option of doubling that through a microSD slot), and the option of 4G LTE connectivity.
Nokia is also making its own Power Keyboard available for the 2520, which will add a physical keyboard, two USB ports, and extended battery life - not to mention wrap-around protection for the tablet when in transport.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 will run on Windows 8.1 RT, Microsoft’s cut-down version of its Windows 8.1 desktop OS.
Verizon plans to offer the Lumia 2520 in black in-store and black or red online. When it launches elsewhere, you can expect to find it available in white and cyan also.
