Rockstar promises new GTA 5 gameplay trailer this week

With just a month to wait until the GTA 5 release date, publisher Rockstar has confirmed it will launch a new GTA 5 gameplay trailer later this week.

Set to be formally unveiled this Thursday, August 15, the second GTA 5 gameplay trailer will focus on the title’s online gaming modes as well as coverage of the title’s first global previews.

Preceding the September 17 GTA 5 release date, the GTA 5 Online gameplay trailer will offer the first look at how the mission-based title will build in online gaming options to its storyline single-player modes. Confirmation of the new GTA 5 trailer comes just weeks after Rockstar teased the arrival of more online based details.

“Stay tuned for more details and media from the game in August including the first proper unveiling of Grand Theft Auto Online,” an official spokesperson for the company stated recently while presenting 12 new GTA 5 screenshots.

One of the most eagerly awaited games of the year, certain aspects of the upcoming GTA 5 title are still shrouded in much confusion, with gamers still unclear on when, or indeed if, the title will be made available for PC or next-gen platforms including the Xbox One and PS4.

Although having repeatedly stated that “everything else is up for consideration,” Rockstar has as yet failed to confirm an GTA 5 release plans beyond the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Dan Houser, Vice President of Rockstar Games added: “We are a third-party publisher. We're not Nintendo, we're not Sony, we're not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there's the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market.”

The first GTA 5 gameplay trailer touched down back in early July, highlighting the game’s ability to let users seamlessly jump between the three leading protagonists.

““When not on a mission, the use of three lead characters also allow for a touch of voyeurism as you can drop in at any moment and find out what your new friends have been up to as they go about their days,” Rockstar stated within the gameplay trailer.
