HTC One Mini release date sees handset launch with Vodafone today

HTC One Mini

The HTC One Mini is now available to buy in the UK

The HTC One Mini release date is upon us and Vodafone has confirmed it will stock the 4G ready HTC One spinoff from today, August 14.

Hitting the red-hued network just days before the Vodafone 4G network rollout on August 29, the HTC One Mini will be paired with either access to Sky Sports Mobile TV or a Spotify Premium account and will come free on tariffs starting at £34 per month.

A 4.3-inch mid-market handset, the HTC One Mini is, as its name suggests, a scaled down version of the Taiwanese manufacturer’s flagship HTC One. Enjoying the same brushed aluminium design, the HTC One Mini is set to go head-to-head with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini in the battle of the sub-sized spinoffs.

Vodafone has confirmed that those snapping up the 4G compatible HTC One Mini on the £34 per month, 24 month Vodafone Red 4G-ready tariff will see the handset line up alongside an unlimited texts and calls allowance. What’s more, with a 2GB monthly data allowance, early adopters will be able to make use of the Vodafone 4G network from the end of this month.

Rolling out across London on August 29, the Vodafone 4G coverage will be expanded to a further 12 UK cities by the end of the year. The company’s expansion plans will see the likes of Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and Edinburgh covered by 4G this year.

“With 4G, speed is just the start: it’s what you do with it that really matters”, Guy Laurence, CEO of Vodafone UK said of the company’s 4G plans last week. “We are taking 4G into a new league by offering sport; and changing the tune with all the music you could want. 4G is finally worth getting and there’s plenty to look forward to”
