What will the PS4 look like: See the teaser video below for a glimpse

Sony has confirmed that the eagerly awaited PS4 console design will be formally unveiled ahead of E3 2013 on June 10, answering the question on everyone’s lips, what will the PS4 look like?

Launching a new PS4 teaser video offering hints at the console’s upcoming form factor, Sony has announced the PS4 console design will be formally unveiled on June 10, almost four months after the console was confirmed as an eight-core powerhouse based on PC architecture.

Looking to take some of the limelight away from Microsoft’s Xbox 720 unveiling set to be held in Seattle tomorrow, May 22, Sony has launched the new PS4 teaser video online, offering a collection of tantalising glimpses into what the PS4 will look like.

Seemingly set to feature a selection of angled parts along numerous grills and fan ports, the PS4 design is still shrouded in mystery suggesting the console could still feature the rounded design previously hinted at by its orb based codename.

Not stepping too far away from the standard mould, the PS4 design looks set to see the console line up with a traditional black hue. It is currently unknown what the new Xbox will look like but is expected Microsoft will showcase its console at tomorrow’s unveiling.

Having come under criticism for having failed to show the PS4 design at the console’s launch earlier in the year, Sony instead revealed the PS4 compatible DualShock 4 controller, with the revised peripheral set to feature a touchpanel interface and rear-mounted ‘Share’ button.

Set to make its first public appearance during Sony’s pre-E3 June 10 press conference, the PS4 design will be unveiled at 6pm PDT, 2am BST on the morning of Tuesday, June 11. Although a finalised date has yet to be confirmed, a PS4 release date has been pencilled in for the ‘2013 holiday season.’
