Honor 6 Plus tight

Having taken its first official bow at MWC 2015 last month, the Honor 6+ has now been dated and priced for its UK release.

The latest high-spec, low-priced handset from the Huawei spin-off brand, the Honor 6+ will be available for purchase from May 1 and will set wannabe owners back a penny shy of £300.

For those who simply can’t wait that long to splash the cash, the 5.5-inch phone will be made available for pre-order through Amazon from next Monday, April 6.

“The Honor 6+ is the latest and loudest statement from Honor that proves the company’s dedication to producing high quality devices to ‘always on’ digital natives,” the Chinese manufacturer stated.

An official spokesperson added: “The new, premium device speaks volumes about Honor’s commitment to shake up the mobile phone space across Europe.

Boasting a 5.5-inch, 1080p Full HD display, the 6+ is, like its iPhone-branded namesake, Honor’s flagship offering.

The phone features dual 8-megapixel rear-mounted cameras, with the two shooters combining to form 13-megapixel images. A secondary, 8-megapixel camera sits up front.

Under the hood, a quad-core Kirin 925 processor runs the show alongside 3GB of RAM and Google’s Android OS. A sizeable 3600mAh Lithium-Polymer battery should keep the phone running well into a second day.

Honor entered the UK market late last year as an entirely digital proposition. Despite its online foundations, last month Three confirmed it would start stocking certain Honor handsets in select physical retail stores moving forward.
