Roku will release upgraded replacements for the Roku 2 and Roku 3 streaming boxes this week, according to reports.
New iterations of the Roku 2 and Roku 3 boxes have appeared on retailer websites for Zones and Best Buy Canada, as pointed out by Zatznotfunny.
Best Buy Canada claims that these new media streaming devices will be available from April 13. It also provides some guidance as to the improvements made in each.
Beyond minor cosmetic changes on the boxes themselves, it seems as if the remote controls are in for some interesting new features. Furthering Roku's relationship with Google, there will be new quick-launch buttons for YouTube and Google Play.
Even more interestingly, there'll be a new search button on the Roku 3 that points to voice search capabilities "across most channels."

The Roku 2, for its part, doesn't fare quite so well. In fact, it's set to lose the headphones that come bundled with the current model.
Still, both boxes are in line to get faster processors, with the Roku 2 now closer to the Roku 3 in terms of internal components and thus performance than before.
The new Roku 3 is here priced at $135 (£91), while the new Roku 2 will apparently cost $95 (£64). As Pocket-lint points out, this would represent a sizeable drop in price over the current models, so don't take them as read.
