Xbox One update reportedly introduces video output bug

With the Xbox One update introduced over the weekend having been intended to fix bugs with the console, latest reports have suggested it has introduced new video output issues.

Although addressing certain issues with Microsoft’s latest generation console, and introducing new features to the next-gen console, a number of users have reported that the Xbox One update has caused their device to be plagued by a new AV bug.

According to complaints, the February Xbox One update has resulted in video signal being lost when returning to the console’s home screen from in-game action.

Although background audio can still be heard, those troubled with the issue have claimed that the loss of video signal can only be rectified by performing a hard reset on the console.

Far from a lone glitch, gamers have taken to blogs and forums in their droves to vent their frustrations with the Xbox One update bug.

Speaking through Reddit, one gamer speaker under the tag of lipper2000 stated: "Found a bug when playing Titanfall. When starting a game and I hit the home button to go back to the home [screen] the video output is lost.... might also happen with other games. I have to do a hard reset to get back video again."

These reports were echoed by further gamers, including one who said: "Video signal was completely black, but I could hear all the sounds to the respected actions I was performing, i.e. (moving around the home screen, the noise when the voice commands registers your command, and the actual sounds of the Titanfall game i was currently playing in.)”

Microsoft has yet to offer any official comment on the claimed Xbox One update bugs.

Rolled out over the weekend, the February Xbox One update, which was delayed by four days, has added USB keyboard support to the PS4 rival, as well as introducing an on-screen battery monitor for connected consoles and further improvements.
