Although the HTC One 2 specs sheet looks all but nailed on, much speculation continues to flow around the handset’s prospective naming.
With the HTC One follow-on having previously done the rounds under the moniker of the HTC M8, HTC One 2 and HTC One Plus, it has now been claimed that the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S5 rival will in fact be branded ‘The All New One’.
The latest naming rumours have surfaced courtesy of serial Twitter-based tipster @evleaks who has claimed: “Look for M8 to be called The All New One.”
The insider has added that the upcoming Sony Xperia Z2 challenger will launch in “grey, silver and gold” colour schemes.
While we can’t see HTC naming its new flagship phone something as clunky as The All New One, simply calling the second-generation phone the HTC One, much in the same vein as Apple’s annually updated MacBook Air, seems a far more likely scenario.
In this situation, ‘The All New One’ tag would be far more likely to be a slogan attributed to marketing the second-gen HTC One.
According to recent HTC One 2 rumours, the flagship phone will play host to a new, 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display, a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset and 3GB of RAM.
With the handset have made a number of premature appearances in leaked pictures, the HTC One 2 looks set to feature a marginally remodelled brushed metal body, with a second rear-mounted camera sensor bolstering the phone’s primary Ultrapixel snapper.
Yesterday HTC revealed that a HTC One 2 release date will be held on March 25, with formal invites to the phone’s London-based unveiling issued.
