HTC Desire 8 specs leaked ahead of MWC unveiling

The HTC Desire 8 specs have leaked ahead of an official MWC 2014 unveiling.

According to the latest rumours, the HTC Desire 8 is scheduled to make an official appearance at MWC 2014 on February 24. Now, we can take a look at its rumoured specs.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen rumoured HTC Desire 8 specs, but the wealth of rumours suggests there is some truth to them.

The latest info comes from tech tipster and ROM developer LlabTooFer and suggests the Desire 8 will be a mid-range device with some pretty impressive camera specs.

The Desire 8 is tipped to feature a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM, plus 8GB of internal storage helped by microSD card support.

Running Android 4.4.2 KitKat and the new Sense 6.0, a 5.5-inch 720p HD resolution display is also tipped to make the cut.

Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity are also listed, as well as 4G LTE compatibility.

What’s the most exciting of this rumoured specs list is a rather good 13-megapixel rear camera, which is pretty impressive for a mid-range smartphone and especially good news for the Instagrammers out there.

This will also be complemented by a fairly high-resolution front-facing snapper of 5-megapixels.

The Desire 8 will also make use of Android 4.4 KitKat by adopting on-screen buttons only, rather than any physical soft-touch alternatives.

HTC will reportedly launch the Desire 8 on February 24, but the company will hold back the HTC One 2 for its own special launch event on March 25.

The HTC One 2 is expected to launch with a 5-inch 1080p full HD display, powered by a 2.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM.
