HTC One 2 release date confirmed for March 25 unveiling

The HTC One 2 release date has been all but confirmed, with the manufacturer revealing it will hold a dedicated launch event on March 25.

Teasing the upcoming phone via Twitter, the Taiwanese smartphone maker has told followers to ‘Save the Date’ while attaching an image addressing an upcoming event on Tuesday, March 25.

Although the HTC One 2 has not been referenced directly, the teased HTC event is fitting with past reports that the handset would be unveiled towards the end of March.

With the launch event set to be held in London, HTC’s formal invite, sent to TrustedReviews has inadvertently confirmed the subject of the launch, with the invite attachment entitled “Portrait M8 Invite" - the phone's formal codename.

Set to be unveiled almost exactly one month after next Monday’s expected Samsung Galaxy S5 launch, recent HTC One 2 rumours have claimed the phone will sport a brushed metal body markedly similar to last year’s HTC One just with a number of core improvements.

While the HTC One 2 specs sheet has been tipped to see a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display introduced, further reports have claimed the handset will benefit from a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM and Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

What’s more, according to leaked HTC One 2 pictures, the phone will boast a second camera sensor on the phone’s rear, reportedly designed to improve focus times and light metering.

TrustedReviews will be on hand at the HTC One 2 launch event so stay tuned for all the latest news and hands-on action.
