Ahead of the upcoming Sony Xperia Z2 release date, reported spy shots of the handset have leaked, hinting that the Sony Xperia Z1 follow-on will feature a bezel-free, edge-to-edge display.
With the flagship Sony Xperia Z2 expected to be a highlight of MWC 2014 later this month, the newly surfaced leak has teased that the handset’s screen could be the phone’s main focus with an extremely streamlined bezel design mooted.
Although the latest leaked image is befittingly blurry of such a spy shot, what it shows is a phone’s display – running Sony’s Xperia UI, with what appears to be an almost impossibly thin bezel.
Having surfaced via Chinese forum Digi-Woo we must stress that the latest Sony Xperia Z2 leak be taken with a considerable pinch of salt. That said, if accurate, it appears Sony could be on to a winner.
At present few details on the rumoured Sony Xperia 2 are known, with the handset expected to be a considerable step up on its 2.2GHz quad-core, Android 4.2 powered predecessor.
While the Sony Xperia Z1 featured a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display, it is possible that the Z2 could fit the same size panel into a smaller overall handset design.
