Will these classes be replaced by police ranks?
According to the latest reports, Battlefield 5 will be released later this year and be police-themed.
If a new report is correct, Visceral is working on a police-themed Battlefield 5 title rumoured to launch in the latter half of 2014.
The Polygon sources reveal the game is currently going under the codename “Havana” and will feature a police-based storyline, rather than the usual army affair.
A late 2014 Battlefield 5 release date would not be out of the question, as Battlefield tends to be released around the end of October/beginning of November.
Battlefield 4 was released on November 1 2013 for current gen consoles and PC, so we could see this matched by Battlefield 5.
A new IP for EA Games as well
EA Games is also working on an “exciting new IP”, teased by some new job listings on the EA jobs pages.
There’s a UI artist listing for a next-gen game from Visceral Games that will include “a complex network of selection and customisation” options.
“This is a major opportunity to contribute creatively to an exciting new IP,” reads the UI artist job listing.
EA Games is also advertising for an environment artist, but there’s no indication as to what the game the job is assigned to.
Listings also include a VFX artist and senior environment texture artist to work on “an exciting unique franchise”, which could be another title altogether or Battlefield 5.
