South Park: The Stick of Truth
South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have pledged not to release extra material, scripted for the long-awaited 'The Stick Of Truth' game, in the form of downloadable content bundles.
Speaking on a Comic-Con panel on Thursday, Parker said he was pushed down the DLC route after the script for the game swelled to 850 pages.
According to a Polygon report, Parker said he was advised to "cut it [the script] down, cut it down, cut it down."
He added: "Everyone kept saying to us [make that extra content] DLC" a proclamation that was booed by fans during the discussion "I agree... f*** that," Parker retorted.
Instead all of the extra material penned by the show's creators could find its way into the TV series, which will return to our screens again this autumn.
"Somehow or another this s*** will get out there," said in typically profane fashion.
"We did have this whole delusion of actually incorporating the game into the season, but that sounds like a bitch. We really just wanted it to be that you could pick it up anywhere and it would kind of make sense."
The RPG, now in the hands of Ubisoft following THQ's demise into bankruptcy, is scheduled to launch in time for Christmas. The game is scheduled to launch for current-gen consoles and PC.
It returned to the public consciousness at the E3 expo when a new trailer (see below) aired during Ubi's press conference.
