LG Invite

The LG G4 will almost certainly be announced on April 28, it's been revealed.

LG has sent out invites to special events set to occur simultaneously in six cities across the globe on April 28 and April 29 (thanks to those pesky time zones).

New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore and Istanbul will all host events for the launch of... something.

It's for the LG G4, of course. LG doesn't say as much, naturally, but the invites do feature the phrase "See the Great, Feel the Great," and those Gs are written in the classic LG G-series font.

Plus, the increase in leaked information surrounding the LG G4 has been marked of late. Add in the fact that several reports have also pointed to an April release date for the LG G4, and it's pretty clear what we'll be seeing in a month or so's time.

Intriguingly, the invites sent out by LG appear to show two leather panels stitched together. Is this indicative of a bold new use of materials on LG's part?

Or this could simply be an indication of the note-taking credentials of the LG G4, with recent reports pointing to the presence of a Galaxy Note-like stylus for the new flagship phone.

Yesterday, a rumour emerged that LG had ditched the Snapdragon 810 CPU from the LG G4, after some interesting benchmark results turned up online.

It's possible that LG will be turning to the lesser Snapdragon 808 processor for its new phone, which would seem to confirm all those rumours that the Snapdragon 810 is still struggling with overheating.
