A selection of LG G3 cases has emerged online, revealing that the 2014 flagship smartphone could feature a dual LED flash.
Although LG has yet to announce the LG G2 follow-on, one Chinese retailer is already stocking cases for the device.
The major difference between these cases and those available for the G2 is the rather unusual sword-like cutout in the rear of the case.
Currently, G2 cases only have the right hand side hole next to the rear volume rocker for the camera’s flash, but the LG G3 cases feature an additional cutout on the left hand side.
This makes us think that LG could introduce a dual LED flash with its next flagship, similar to that offered with the iPhone 5S and HTC One M8, but separated by the rear camera itself.
The LG G3 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 1440 x 2560 QHD display, which would make the phone a little larger than the 5.2-inch LG G2.
In one of the images below, someone has helpfully shoved the LG G2 inside one of the G3 cases. There’s a tiny gap on the right, but it looks like LG has managed to get the additional screen estate without making the LG G3 much larger than its predecessor.
Other LG G3 specs are tipped to include a 16-megapixel rear camera and a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM.
Powered by a 3000mAh battery, the LG G3 is also expected to feature 32GB of internal storage, microSD support and run the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
Other rumours tease that the LG G3 could come with a Samsung Galaxy S5 aping fingerprint scanner and IP67 water- and dust-resistant certification.
LG is expected to lift the lid on the LG G3 in July, earlier than originally suggested by the South Korean electronics giant.
