LG has launched a new LG G Watch teaser site, shedding some light on the features we can expect from its upcoming Android Wear smartwatch.

Firstly, you’ll notice that LG has confirmed the G Watch will be offered in a new gold finish complete with standout white strap. This Champagne Gold variant retains the black bezel around the square face featured in the previously announced Stealth Black edition of the G Watch.

Similar to the Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2 smartphones, the LG G Watch will be water and dust resistant come launch, which could suggest LG will implement the weather-proof features in the LG G3 too as rumour has suggested.

Although the teaser site doesn’t give us much in the way of extensive details, it does state that the LG G Watch will feature an always-on display for what LG describes as “a screen that never sleeps”.

Hopefully, this means it will make the most of the Google Now features that it will show you all the information you need at a glance, as and when you need it. The image shown on the site displays the time and the current weather forecast, but hopefully this will extend to when your next bus is or whether there’s traffic on your route to work.

When it is launched in July sometime, the LG G Watch will have a 1.85-inch display and offer 4GB of internal memory.

It will launch with a price tag under £180, which is quite a contrast from smartwatch rivals like the Samsung Gear 2 that retails for £249.

The LG G Watch is one of two Android Wear watches arriving this summer, the second being the Motorola Moto 360, which is the first smartwatch we’ve seen with a classic round watchface.
