iPhone 6 case leak suggests ultra-thin smartphone

The first video of the purported iPhone 6 case suggests the device will be exceedingly thin.

As seen in the video below, the alleged iPhone 6 case is lined up next to the iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Google Nexus 5 for size comparisons.

This is intended to show the comparable screen size of the rumoured 4.7-inch iPhone 6 next to the 4-inch iPhone 5S, 5-inch Nexus 5 and 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3.

It definitely looks like a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 display is a possibility if this case is the real deal, as the case is nearly identical in width and height to the Nexus 5.

What is interesting is that the entire case is thinner than the 7.6mm body of the iPhone 5S, suggesting the iPhone 6 will be substantially thinner than the current model, if that’s imaginable. It’s also thinner than the profile of the Nexus 5 as well, which measures in at 8.59mm.

This case also supports the rumour of Apple relocating the power button to the right-hand side of the device. This is potentially to make it easier to access on an iPhone with a 4.7-inch display.

It also looks like the volume buttons will be longer and thinner thanks to an ultra-slim iPhone 6 profile, making them appear more akin to those found on the iPad mini Retina.

As for the rest of the case, we don’t learn anything new about the iPhone 6 as it all matches the positioning of the current iPhone layout.

The iPhone 6 is expected to launch in September, running the new health centric iOS 8 and arrive alongside the heavily rumoured iWatch.
