Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition teased by Bluetooth filing

Despite the Samsung Galaxy S5 being on the verge of launch, the Korean manufacturer is reportedly prepping a new version of the soon to be superseded Samsung Galaxy S4.

Adding to the existing S4 spin-offs, which include the waterproof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, sub-sized Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and camera-happy Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, a new Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition is now being mooted for launch.

Leaking via a Bluetooth SIG filing, the mooted Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition looks set to be a device largely similar to the flagship Samsung Galaxy S4, albeit with a wider range of colour options and, presumably, a lower price tag.

Running the same 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display as its predecessor, the teased Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition, also known as the GT-I9515, will reportedly add the original S4’s 1.9GHz CPU into the mix. Differing from the original slightly, the S4 Value Edition will come boxed with Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS as standard, up from the S4’s Jelly Bean innards.

Although Samsung has yet to officially announce the new S4 edition, the leaked Bluetooth filing has been accompanied by reports that the phone will be made available in pink, red, purple, brown and blue colour schemes as well as the standard black and white hues.

Far from the only S4 add-on to precede the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 unveiling, earlier this month Samsung confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Black Edition would hit the UK.

Identical to the S4 on paper, the S4 Black Edition adds a new, black, faux leather rear panel and a selection of new, darkly hued backgrounds and wallpapers.

With word of a Samsung Galaxy S4 Value Edition release date up in the air, having hit Bluetooth certification last Friday, February 14, it is expected the handset could enter the realms of reality shortly.
