Huawei Ascend G6 launched as mid-range Android smartphone

Huawei has launched the mid-range Huawei Ascend G6 with all the design trademarks of the flagship Huawei Ascend P6.

Sadly, the Ascend P6 swaps out the premium metal body for a plastic variation in order to keep within the confines of a mid-range handset and the body has been bulked out slightly to 7.9mm thick.

The G6 was launched during the company’s MWC 2014 press conference along with the Huawei MediaPad X1 and MediaPad M1.

Huawei Ascend G6 Features

The Huawei Ascend G6 features a 4.5-inch 960 x 540p resolution display running the slightly outdated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and comes with 8GB of internal storage helped by microSD support.

In the rear is an 8-megapixel camera coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. You’ll be able to utilise the various photography software features included with the Huawei Emotion 2.0 UI as well.

One of the ways that the Ascend G6 improves the flagship Ascend P6 launched last year is its 4G LTE support that will help you get all the content you need on the go.

Along with 4G connectivity, you’ll also get Bluetooth 4.0 LE and NFC.

Huawei Ascend G6 Release Date and Price

The Huawei Ascend G6 will be released in April 2014, with pricing yet to be announced.
