All New HTC One name confirmed by official teaser trailer

All New HTC One

The chalkboard will make sense when you watch the trailer...

HTC has just confirmed that the name of its 2014 flagship will be the All New HTC One, revealing the news in a rather bizarre teaser trailer.

The All New HTC One has been named in a new teaser trailer ahead of the phone’s dedicated launch event on March 25.

It seems HTC has decided to go down the comedy line with its line of teaser trailers, with the first “HTC Technical Translations” video detailing the HTC BoomSound speaker technology.

The video begins by showing two chaps describing how great the dual front-facing BoomSound speakers of the HTC One are, before going on to describe how the HTC One 2 versions will be much better.

Before you get to excited, the phone the lab geek whips out of his pocket is pixelated and everything he says about HTC’s 2014 flagship is replaced by trumpet sounds and his mouth pixelled out so you can’t lip read. Shame.

“So basically with the New HTC One, the sound’s even more *trumpets*. Can I check it out?”, asks the checked-shirt representative of the people.

“You’ll have to wait until the launch just like everybody else. That’s why it’s pixelated”, answers the ‘lab geek’.

If the video sounds a bit odd to you, that’s because it is. Give it a watch, it’s embedded below.

HTC has a whole month in which to tease us with more videos like this one, especially as it pretty much has the whole month to itself.

Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014, and Sony used the tech show to launch its latest Sony Xperia Z2 flagship, so we’ve got a big launch gap until the HTC One 2 next month.

We’ve got a bet that one of these “Technical Translations will be focused on not telling us about the All New HTC One camera.
