Battlefield Hardline has taken top spot on the UK all-formats game chart, making it the biggest seller of the year so far.
It also marks the new shooter, developed by Visceral Games and DICE, as EA’s first number one of the year.
That’s up on its predecessor, Battlefield 4, which debuted on the charts at number two back in November 2013.
Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is another new entry to the charts this week, ranking just behind Battlefield Hardline in second place.
That means last week’s chart topper Grand Theft Auto V is down 5 per cent to number three.
Dying Light also fell, albeit by two places, to number four thanks to a 36 per cent sales slump, with Fifa 15 ranking fifth – that’s up 11 per cent.

Sixth place goes to Mario Party 10, marking it as the series’ second highest week one result, only coming behind Mario Party 8.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 also entered the charts for the first time this week, slotting in at seventh.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare did see a 16 per cent rise in sales, but still meant the shooter slipped to eighth on the charts.
In ninth place was Minecraft: Xbox Edition, closely followed by Minecraft: PlayStation Edition at number 10.
