More of HTC's plans for its March 1 launch event have been reported, with claims that the company's first smartwatch could make a showing alongside the HTC One M9.

Last week HTC sent out invites for a launch event to be held in Barcelona on March 1 - just prior to this year's Mobile World Congress.

Naturally we're all expecting the HTC One M9, the company's latest flagship and successor to the fabulous HTC One M8, to receive an airing.

Now Bloomberg has provided some interesting new details on the event.

Apparently, the stand-out feature for the HTC One M9 could be its improved camera. This was the one area where the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 before it really faltered.

Previous reports have pointed towards a 20.7-megapixel, OIS-enhanced camera, which is confirmed here.

The front camera, according to this latest report, could well retain the company's UltraPixel technology from previous models, which would make sense for those low-light selfies.

Otherwise, it's claimed that the HTC One M9 will resemble the HTC One M8 in size and design. It'll be powered by a Snapdragon 810 CPU, and will come with Dolby 5.1 audio technology.

But it's the news of a possible extra announcement that really has us interested. According to the report, HTC will also use this March 1 event to announce its first smartwatch.

Few details are provided, other than to say that the HTC smartwatch will link up with Under Armour's fitness service. Earlier in the month, the sports clothing maker announced a partnership with HTC as it launched its UA Record app, so this isn't too much of a surprise.
