Samsung will apparently launch a curved-screen Galaxy S6 Edge at the same time as its bold Galaxy S6 redesign, according to a new report.

It's been a rocky year for Samsung, with mobile sales disappointing and the company's smartphone dominance slipping.

Part of the plan to turn this situation around, as confirmed by SamMobile, is a brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 design that will effectively see Samsung ripping up its previous work and starting again from scratch

Even more intriguingly, the report claims that Samsung will also launch a Galaxy S6 Edge to accompany the straight S6. This will follow the lead of this year's quirky Galaxy Note Edge, which featured an innovative display that curved around the side of the phone.

There's also the chance that Samsung will realise the Edge concept in a different way to the Galaxy Note Edge.

Whatever form the Galaxy S6 Edge takes, expect it to see release in just a few select markets, "but possibly in higher numbers than the Galaxy Note Edge."

The Galaxy S6 - or Project Zero, as it's being referred to in some quarters - is expected to feature a Quad HD display, a 64-bit Exynos CPU (or the Snapdragon 810 in certain territories), a 20-megapixel camera, and (perhaps most importantly) a premium metal design.
