The HTC One M9 specs sheet has leaked alongside a potential new naming convention for the Taiwanese manufacturer’s flagship phone.
While it had recently been suggested that the HTC One M8 follow-on would shun the expected M9 naming jump, no potential alternatives had previously been offered up by tipsters.
Now, however, an impressive array of specs have made a premature appearance, leaking alongside a device dubbed the HTC Hima.
According to serial Twitter-based tipster @upleaks, the HTC Hima will be bestowed with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 5-inch, 1080p Full HD display.
While this collection of specs would see the mooted M9 land as a market-leading handset, the leak goes against previous reports surrounding the phone’s specs sheet. Past reports had pegged the device to join the Nexus 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in adopting a QHD panel alongside a Snapdragon 805 CPU.
Discrepancies aside, the latest murmurings have also pegged the iPhone 6 and LG G3 rival to pack a 20.7-megapixel primary camera alongside a 13-megapixel selfie snapper and a 2840mAh battery.
Google’s latest Android 5.0 operating system has also been tipped for inclusion alongside a revamped Sense 7.0 UI and Cat 6 LTE 4G connectivity options.
Although this specs sheet has a little hot under the collar, given their less than official foundations we must stress they should be taken with a considerable pinch of salt for now.
What’s more, it is currently unclear if ‘Hima’ will be the handset’s release date or is simply a development title for the eagerly awaited HTC One M9.
What we do know, however, is that the M8 replacement is likely to make its first official bow in mid- to late-March in the weeks following the Barcelona-based MWC conference.
