Galaxy S5 one of five new Samsung handsets heading for Q1 2014 release

The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is widely expected to be held in March 2014, although latest reports have suggested it will not be alone.

According to new reports, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be just one of five new Samsung handsets to hit the market in Q1 2014, with the flagship phone set to launch alongside a range of entry-level and mid-market offerings.

Continuing Samsung’s trend of targeting all possible price points and screen sizes on the smartphone scene, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will lead a new line of Android powered handsets that will reportedly include the cut-priced, reduced-spec Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite.

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 spin-off set to be unveiled at MWC 2014 in February, the stylus hosting phablet will reportedly be joined at the Barcelona-based show by a pair of currently unknown entry-level devices.

While the Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to be formally unveiled at a dedicated launch event in March, the first of the five new handsets, the reportedly rumoured Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite, is believed to be heading for a CES 2014 unveiling in the first week of January.

Although Samsung has yet to offer an official comment on the new handsets, Korean news outlets have claimed that the new handsets will see the manufacturer further push the boundaries of each respective price point.

A number of Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours have done the rounds in recent weeks, with the upcoming iPhone 5S rival widely expected to enter the fray with an all new, premium metal design that will see it closer rival the likes of the HTC One.
