New Dyson Air Multiplier is 75% quieter than original

The new Dyson Air Multiplier fan has been announced and is said to be 75 per cent quieter than the original model.

Dyson has revealed that its second generation Air Multiplier fan will offer several new features to improve the original bladeless fan range.

The new Air Multiplier range now features a new remote control to adjust an in-built sleep timer. You’ll be able to set a sleep timer, up to nine hours, so you can go to sleep and not worry about the fan still being on in the morning or waking up freezing in the middle of the night.

In order to help this being your new best pal for bed time in the summer, Dyson has also made the new range 75 per cent quieter while still maintaining the same “powerful” airflow.

“The Noise Abatement Society has awarded the Quiet Mark to the new Air Multiplier technology. 65 Dyson engineers reduced the turbulence of high velocity air, cancelling out specific tones, yet retaining high performance”, explained Dyson in a statement.

Dyson has also made the space at the base larger and reduced the airflow obstructions to reduce turbulence and introduced a Helmholtz cavity in the base to dissipate sound waves.

The new Dyson Air Multiplier range will be available sometime later this month. Pricing starts at £219.99 for the smallest AM06 model, rising to £299.99 for the largest AM08 model.

Also, the range will be available in iron/blue, black/nickel, iron/nickel and white/silver colour variations.
