Nokia Lumia 1520 screen set to make it the first Full HD Windows Phone

The Nokia Lumia 1520 screen will be a 1080p Full HD affair, making it the first Windows Phone handset to run such a display, latest reports have suggested.

Adding to the growing mound of Nokia Lumia 1520 leaks and rumours, newly emerged screenshots have all but confirmed that the upcoming phablet sized smartphone will sport a Full HD display when formally unveiled later this month.

The leaked Nokia Lumia 1520 screenshot, which has reportedly been taken from the Open Mobile Alliance, features both the phone’s widely mooted name and its screen’s resolution. Backing up a raft of recent Nokia Lumia 1520 rumours, the new leak has pointed to a 1920 x 1080 pixel Full HD display making the cut.

Although the size of the Nokia Lumia 1520 screen is not shown in the screen grab, it is believed that the phone will give the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 a run for its money with a 6-inch panel expected to be included.

With a Nokia Lumia 1520 release date to be announced at the phone’s formal unveiling at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi on October 22, further Nokia Lumia 1520 specs have been tipped to include a new quad-core processor. The improved spec should see the Windows Phone 8 powered handset compete more closely with some of it Android based rivals.

Late last week, new Nokia Lumia 1520 pictures leaked, showing off the phone in a red colour scheme for the first time. Like its siblings such as the Nokia Lumia 1020, it is expected that the Nokia Lumia 1520 will be made available with a polycarbonate body in a range of vibrant hues.

Although expected to be one of the highlights of the upcoming launch event, the Nokia Lumia 1520 is not believed to be the sole focus on the imminent announcement, with the first Nokia tablet mooted to be on the cards alongside a selection of cheaper phones.

We will be on hand in Abu Dhabi to bring you all of the latest Nokia Lumia 1520 news so stay tuned to TrustedReviews for the big announcement.
